Lennie James has been a fan favorite since the first season of The walking dead. He did a remarkable job as Morgan Jones in the franchise. In January 2022, James will appear in a play called A Number at the Old Vic Theater in London.
James’ character Morgan Jones helped our hero Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) at the start of the series. Throughout his time at TWDU, he has been estranged and reunited with Rick more than once. Morgan eventually switched to the spinoff series, Fear the living dead, and during his time on this series has grown into a dynamic leader.
Currently on Fear the living dead, Morgan is building a community with the help of many others. They will face serious threats and hopefully this community is willing to ban together to resist whatever comes their way.
Lennie James to appear in A Number, which premieres in January 2022
The Old Vic Theater is located in London, and James will appear in the production of A number, a play written by Caryl Churchill and directed by Lyndsey Turner. The play will run from January 24 to March 19, 2022. It will be a live performance, so if you don’t live there you probably won’t be able to see it.
The play was written in 2002 and follows a conflict between a father (James) and his sons; Paapa Essiedu plays all 3. The story focuses on human cloning because two of the sons are clones of the first.
You may remember Andrew Lincoln played Ebenezer Scrooge in The Old Vic’s production of A Christmas Carol in December 2020. This production was available online, allowing many overseas Lincoln fans to see him in this production.
If you’re disappointed you won’t see James in A number; you can see him in action in other roles. He did an outstanding job as Nelly in the series Save me and Save me too. This British television series was created and written by James. He plays Nelly, a down-and-out in search of his estranged daughter who has mysteriously disappeared. There are two seasons of this series and at the time of writing this article are available on Peacock.
Kudos to Lennie James for the A Number play with performances in 2022.
