Conference of Catholic Democrats Bishops – OpEd – Eurasia Review

Seems like everyone is lecturing bishops these days.

The latest to do so are 59 Democrats who identify as Catholics. At the head of the charge is the representative Rosa DeLauro. On June 18, she issued a “Declaration of Principles” which reprimands bishops for addressing the issue of Catholic public figures who reject basic Catholic moral teachings; 73% of bishops voted to consider a document on the suitability of these self-identified Catholics to receive Holy Communion.

DeLauro has a long history of telling bishops what to do.

In 2006, she published a “Declaration of Principles”, signed by 55 self-proclaimed Catholic Democrats, affirming that one can be a Catholic in good standing and promote the right to abortion. In 2007, she was one of 18 self-proclaimed Catholic Democrats to criticize Pope Benedict XVI on this subject. In 2015, she led a contingent of 93 self-identified Catholic Democrats explaining to Pope Francis the issues he had to solve when he came to the United States: The right to life was not one of them, but change. climate has made the difference.

In the latest “Declaration of Principles”, DeLauro and his company say they are proud to be part of the Catholic tradition which “expresses a coherent moral framework for life”, adding that they “agree with the Catholic Church on the value of human life. “Yet virtually all of the signatories have a pro-abortion vote record.

DeLauro voted for research on human embryonic stem cells, a process that involves the killing of nascent human life. It opposes human cloning for reproductive purposes against the law. She has consistently voted against banning partial birth abortions and achieved a 100% NARAL score on abortion legislation.

The “Declaration of Principles” expresses dismay at poverty, asserting that better “access to education for all” is needed. Still, DeLauro voted against having to work for able-bodied welfare recipients. In other words, it wants to keep the poor unemployed instead of allowing them to lift themselves out of poverty.
She also voted against every choice of school bills ever proposed, making it laughable for her to suggest that she wants “access to education for all”. In fact, she voted against reauthorizing the Washington DC scholarship program, the initiative that has worked so well for poor African Americans.

DeLauro and his self-identified Catholic Democrats made their biggest media noise saying how hypocritical it is for bishops to focus on abortion and not the death penalty, to which the Catholic Church s ‘opposite. Perhaps it is because they are not equal.

It is estimated that between 1973 and 2019, 61,628,584 innocent children were killed in their mother’s womb. The number of convicted felons who were executed during this period was 1,512.

Curiously, the “Declaration of Principles” encourages “alternatives to abortion”.

But why are alternatives needed if abortion doesn’t kill? Is there something lurking inside these self-identified pro-abortion Catholic Democrats that makes them think? We need to know what it is, because if they do understand that abortion kills innocent human lives, they would easily get away with it if the bishops simply refused them Communion.
