COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) – Copper is a 7-year-old, 45-pound Treeing Walker Coonhound mix who has been homeless for almost three months.
He is super soft! Copper is very mindful, especially when it comes to treats, and already knows some good workout commands.
He has done very well with the other Pawmetto Lifeline dogs, his rescuers said. He also has what we call “flexible energy,” which means he loves to play and be active, but he also enjoys lounging.
Copper has big doggy features! Coonhounds are known to be intelligent and loving, and they enjoy spending time with humans.
This puppy loves to talk and use his charming doggy voice when he is excited about something. He is very “museum” so he likes to sniff and investigate his surroundings. Quite a curious guy!
Copper tested positive for heartworms when rescued. He has had several treatments and his caretakers are so proud of his good results.
During Pawmetto Lifeline’s “Dog Days of Summer” dog adoption special, which runs through Saturday, August 6, all dogs 35 pounds and over are only $ 50.

The adoption fee includes spaying / neutering the dog, up-to-date vaccines, microchip, and any other medical care the puppy received while on Pawmetto Lifeline, such as Copper heartworm treatments.
The group wants to adopt as many large dogs as possible in order to make room to save more lives from euthanasia in municipal shelters.
Pawmetto Lifeline is open for adoptions from noon to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Go out and find your new best friend!
