Jurassic World: Dominion (2022) is shaping up to be the most epic film in the entire franchise. Not only will he see the return of the original jurassic park (1993), it will also revolve around dinosaurs living and thriving on the North American continent and in other parts of the world.

And with the film’s release just weeks away, Universal Pictures is wasting no time with heavy marketing. With two official trailers dominating the online world, toy shelves everywhere are already lined with rows of new merchandise.

The film will be the sixth jurassic park episode, and director Colin Trevorrow described it as “the epic climax of the entire franchise”, while the first official trailer promises “the end of the Jurassic era”. But that hasn’t stopped many from speculating that there will be more films.

After all, producer Frank Marshall himself teased potential future movies recently, saying:

“I think Dominion is going to wrap up this trilogy, but we’re not resting on our laurels. We’ll sit down, and we’ll see what the future holds. We have this wonderful series, Camp Cretaceous, on Netflix. We obviously want to make good, quality movies with great storytelling, great writers and directors, but we’re definitely looking to do more in the Jurassic World.

However, in a recent interview on the Today show, actor Chris Pratt, who is reprising his role as Owen Grady in Jurassic World: Dominionalongside others jurassic world regular Bryce Dallas Howard (Claire Dearing), has confirmed that the film will be indeed be the last entry in the series.

the Today Show host Savannah Guthrie asked Chris Pratt: “Is it [Jurassic World: Dominion] really the end? The actor responded by saying:

“I really think this is the end, yeah. You got the legacy cast back – Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum – plus the Jurassic World cast, all of our storylines converging in a way that’s truly a finale. The actor went on to say, “Thirty years in the making – this is the sixth Jurassic movie, and it’s the end of this franchise.”

Although it’s clearly Chris Pratt opinionand may not be in line with Universal Studios’ future plans for the franchise, as it turns out, the actor is the one who was involved in the filming of the film, and no doubt knows how everything will turn out.

Either way, his lyrics are sure to create even more anticipation around Jurassic World: Dominionas fans will be more curious than ever to find out how the series – even if the next film only marks the conclusion of the jurassic park and jurassic world movies – will end.

Between the Jurassic World: Dominion prologue, trailers, and the dinosaur-populated map of North America recently shared by Colin Trevorrow, it’s clear that dinosaurs have become a global problem in the four years since they first escaped from Lockwood Manor at the end of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018).

As such, it’s hard to say how the upcoming sequel might conclude, as it looks like dinosaurs are about to rule the earth once again. What we do know is that the fan favorite jurassic park the villainous Lewis Dodgson (Campbell Scott) will be the main antagonist, and that he might have something to do with the growing populations of dinosaurs.

Even Netflix’s hit animated show Jurassic World: Cretaceous Camp (2020) is set to end with its fifth season in July. While it takes place before Jurassic World: Dominionit is quite possible that some characters from the series will make an appearance in the next film.

Given the success of the last two jurassic world movies, which have grossed just under $3 billion at the global box office combined, it’s highly unlikely that Jurassic World: Dominion will mark the end of this hugely successful franchise.

Who knows – maybe a future movie, or even a live-action TV series, won’t even feature dinosaurs at all. Jurassic World: Cretaceous Campwhich is generally considered canon, has previously featured other prehistoric creatures such as the saber-toothed tiger.

Even the movies themselves have ventured beyond dinosaur cloning territory, like Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom introduced the franchise’s first human clone in the form of Maisie Lockwood (Isabella Sermon), who will also return in Jurassic World: Dominion.

Either way, whether or not the upcoming sequel is the last, it will always serve as the finale, concluding every ‘Jurassic era’ movie so far – jurassic park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), Jurassic Park 3 (2001), jurassic world (2015), and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. So it might be easier to consider it as a Avengers: Endgame (2019) Type Case.

Jurassic World: Dominion stars Bryce Dallas Howard (Claire Dearing), Chris Pratt (Owen Grady), Isabella Sermon (Maisie Lockwood), Omar Sy (Barry Sembène) and BD Wong (Henry Wu), Campbell Scott (Lewis Dodgson), DeWanda Sykes (Kayla), Jeff Goldblum (Dr Ian Malcolm), Sam Neill (Dr Alan Grant) and Laura Dern (Dr Ellie Sattler).
